About Me...

I’ve been a nerd ever since I could remember (The "OS" in Schafos stands for "Operating Systems"). I was born to two loving parents who both nerd for a living, and at one point or another, were self-employed entrepreneurs.

My first job was at a grocery store where I became a Cashier, and then there was a shortage of Cart Attendants, so I took that as an opportunity. For the next 622 days after that, I went from questioning my decision to do the job everyone hated, to embracing it. If it were not for that Grocery Store, I would not have the strong work ethic I have today. Now I am a self-employed businessman and entrepreneur. I run a venture company where I help others like-minded begin that journey to being their own boss, and I run a few other small side-hustles out of there as well. Part time, I work a few service stations for a wonderful Indian gentleman who happens to also be someone I deeply respect. When I am customer-facing, I engage with a simple “hello” and give a firm handshake, as a gesture of "thank you for your business." I do the same when they leave. Start with a shake, and end with one.

I've always considered myself a people-person and a Servant Leader. If I see something out of place, I do what I am able to so that the needs of others are satisfied completely before my own. I use that leadership style both at home and in business. The one thing I've learned about business is that your customer may not always be right, but they do come first, and their needs are very specific.

If I'm not working, I'm spending time either with my family, or with my "chosen family", who are group of friends to which I enjoy their presence, I am very partial to cigars. Have been for a while now. I have a wine-a-dor I got for Christmas a few years back and it's definitely a conversation piece.

I have always lived by a quote, to not waste good. It's the people who diminish their talents and do not make it far in life, and end up making poor life & financial decisions. I am grateful for those around me who not only support me, but are just there when I need them the most. Don't take anything for granted, because tomorrow is never promised.

Thanks for stopping by.
